The inaugural Crypties Awards from Decrypt Studios were a star-studded event held in Miami on November 30. Hosted by Josh Ostrovsky („The Fat Jewish“) and sponsored by a range of crypto projects, the Crypties Awards recognized excellence in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate the industry’s achievements, with nine categories being awarded.
In the category of Game of the Year, the winner was Crypto Unicorns. Katrina Wolfe accepted the Cryptie from presenter Avery Akkineni of Vayner3. The other nominees in the category were Stepn, Zed Run, and Blankos Block Party.
Actor David Bianchi spoke to Decrypt’s Jason Nelson right before a public table read for Bianchi’s upcoming drama series „RZR“, to be distributed through Gala Films. The show is already greenlit and will be set in a dystopian future Los Angeles, with Ethereum and other digital assets as part of the plot. Bianchi also conducted two NFT drops to build engagement from fans.
Tezos co-founder Kathleen Breitman was also in attendance, speaking onstage at Web Summit in Lisbon. Breitman discussed how the Tezos blockchain has used a proof-of-stake mechanism since its inception, her admiration for Tendermint, Ethereum and sharding, progressive decentralization, and NFT gaming.
Overall, the Crypties Awards from Decrypt Studios provided an opportunity to celebrate the industry’s achievements and recognize the success of its projects. With the awards night being hosted by Josh Ostrovsky and presenters from a range of crypto projects, statuettes were awarded in nine categories. In addition, attendees were able to hear from actor David Bianchi about his upcoming web3 TV series ‚RZR‘ and from Tezos co-founder Kathleen Breitman about the Tezos blockchain and NFT gaming.
